This marks the fourth consecutive year full-service agency, rooted in premium journalism and purpose-led content, has taken home an award at the international event.
The International Content Marketing Awards is the biggest event in the content marketing calendar. Agencies from across the world share the best work from the past year for judgement by some of most credible names in marketing. The event is widely seen as a barometer for the industry’s talent, insight and innovation by brand marketers globally.
TCO won Gold in the Best Video Series category with Ardbeg's 'The Smoke Sessions', a high-energy BBQ- and whisky-inspired series that TCO stirred up my mixing fire, food, cocktails, rock 'n' roll – and a dash of kung fu. The food series for the LVMH-owned brand was presented by DJ BBQ (Christian Stevenson), a longtime TCO collaborator, BBQ expert for Jamie Oliver’s FoodTube and a UK summer festival favourite.
The agency also took Gold in the Best Partnership category with the 'Here and Now' campaign for Levi's, an integrated partnership exploring how men are reimagining outdated expectations of status, identity and performance. Videos and stories were activated through TCO's Huck magazine across nine European markets.
The third Gold came for Best Use of Print with Sandwich magazine, a premium quarterly title for Unilever brand Sir Kensington’s that champions the wonderful possibilities that exist within two slices of bread. Each edition celebrates a particular sandwich as an entry point to look at wider food culture. The BLT starred in the launch issue, followed by the Banh Mi and the Lobster Roll.
To wrap up the evening, Destination Canada's 'How to Canada' campaign won Bronze in the competitive Best Travel category. This marks the fourth consecutive trophy for 2019 Gold-winner Destination Canada at the CMA awards.
Simon Baker, TCO's Managing Director, said:
“We're so proud of our team. Everyone's worked incredibly hard this year, through a pandemic, to find innovative ways to deliver premium – and relevant – journalism-inspired content. We're also grateful for the CMA, who continue to support excellence in content. It's so tough to win and we feel blessed and proud to have taken home four trophies this year.”
The awards capped a year where TCO was named one of the D&AD’s top 100 Design Agencies for 2020 as well as one of the UK’s top 100 independent agencies, based on growth and performance, in the latest rankings by the Drum.
